Saints retain Sterling Moore with one-year contract
New Orleans Saints defensive back Sterling Moore was re-signed to a one-year contract.
Moore was picked up by the Saints just before Week 1 last season primarily to provide depth, but he wound up being a regular member of a depleted unit. If New Orleans' secondary can stay healthy in 2017, look for Moore to be the fourth corner on the roster. He joins a rather middling group of defensive signings for the Saints this offseason.
The Saints' secondary was third-worst in the NFL last season in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) allowed per play. They also ranked third-worst in overall schedule-adjusted Defensive NEP allowed per play.
