New York Jets quarterback Christian Hackenberg will make starts in 2017, expects ESPN New York.
Despite being unwilling to even give Hackenberg practice reps during his rookie campaign, reporter Rich Cimini believes the Jets want to see what they have in the former second-round pick. It's a noble idea, but there doesn't seem to be much hope for Hack, with an anonymous Jets source declaring to the New York Daily News that the 22-year-old pass-thrower would "never make it."
Led by Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bryce Petty and Geno Smith, the Jets were third-worst in the NFL last season in schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points per play.
