Jets eyeing a quarterback in the first round
The New York Jets "are very intrigued" by University of North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, reports ESPN's Rich Cimini.
The Jets are sending a squadron to Trubisky's Pro Day on Tuesday, suggesting they may be looking to use their first-round pick -- 6th overall -- to identify the team's quarterback of the future. Gang Green signed Josh McCown on Monday and drafted Christian Hackenberg in the second round last year, but neither of them are viable options under center.
The Jets were third-worst in the NFL last season in schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points per play.
