Free agent defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins is seeking more than $10 million per season, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports.
One week into free agency, it's fair to say the market believes Hankins is asking for too much. The Miami Herald reported earlier Thursday that Hankins is adamant about signing a long-term deal in addition to the big-time annual value. Hankins, though only 25 this month, seems unlikely to get his desired price.
The Giants finished second-best in opponent-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points allowed per play last season.
