49ers acquire Ravens' starting center Jeremy Zuttah

The San Francisco 49ers acquired offensive center Jeremy Zuttah from the Baltimore Ravens for a sixth-round draft pick.

What It Means:

The 49ers are swapping sixth-round picks, with the Ravens moving up 12 spots. Zuttah was going to be released, but the trade keeps him off the market. San Francisco will take on the remaining two years and $9.2 million of Zuttah's contract.

The 49ers had the league's fifth-worst Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per attempt last year, with the ninth-worst Rushing Success Rate -- the percent of run plays going for positive NEP -- to boot. Zuttah is an instant upgrade; the Ravens were 11th-best and 17th-best, respectively.
