Dont'a Hightower expected to choose team Wednesday
Free agent linebacker Dont'a Hightower is expected to decide between the New England Patriots, New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Despite the Jets reportedly putting the most money on the table, Rapoport says the general consensus is Hightower will remain in New England. The Steelers aren't really a factor and were likely just a leverage play.
The Patriots' defense ranked 11th in the league by opponent-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play last season. The Jets were 23rd.
