Andre Ellington

Andre Ellington staying in Arizona

The Arizona Cardinals re-signed running back Andre Ellington to a one-year contract.

What It Means:

A former darling of the fantasy community during his 2013 rookie campaign, Ellington is now little more than an ancillary option in Arizona's backfield behind David Johnson. He turned 28 last month and still offers some play-making ability, but his fantasy relevance is non-existent. Ellington carried the ball only 34 times last season in his first 16-game campaign.

Ellington's -0.13 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per attempt last season was worst among all Cardinals running backs. Out of the 19 backs to rush between 30 and 50 times in 2016, Ellington had the fourth-lowest Rushing NEP per attempt.
