Colts bring back Robert Turbin on two-year deal

The Indianapolis Colts re-signed running back Robert Turbin to a two-year contract.

What It Means:

It looks like Indianapolis will be sticking with the same backfield next season, with Turbin serving as the primary backup for Frank Gore -- who turns 34 in May. Turbin vultured eight touchdowns (seven rushing, one receiving) from Gore last season, with five coming in the final five games.

Turbin's 35 total touches (25 rushes, 10 catches) over that closing five-game stretch was almost half (48.0 percent) of the 73 touches he saw for the entire season. He finished with 0.28 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt, compared to Gore's -0.02 Rushing NEP per attempt.
