Titans tried swapping firsts with Saints for Brandin Cooks
The Tennessee Titans offered to swap first-round picks -- 5th-overall for 11th-overall -- and a third-round pick to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for wide receiver Brandin Cooks, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.
The Titans' willingness to swap picks that high in the first round, in addition to giving up a third-rounder, shows their desire to bring in a legitimate playmaking receiver on the outside for rising quarterback Marcus Mariota. Rishard Matthews and Tajae Sharpe are currently one and two on Tennessee's depth chart.
Among the 41 receivers with at least 100 targets in 2016, Cooks was second in Reception Net Expected Points per target (0.84) while Matthews was seventh (0.80).
