DeMarcus Ware retires from NFL
Linebacker DeMarcus Ware, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos, has announced his retirement after 12 seasons.
"After a lot of thought and prayer, I've decided to accept the unknown and retire from my NFL career," Ware stated. He's been limited to 21 games over the past two seasons due to back problems, but has remained an effective pass rusher, coming away with 12 sacks in that span. Turning 35 in July, Ware has a good shot at making the Hall of Fame with four first-team All-Pro selections on his resume.
The 11th pick of the 2005 draft recorded 138.5 career sacks -- eighth-most all time -- while playing nine years for the Cowboys and three for the Broncos.
