Bears snag Kendall Wright on prove-it deal

The Chicago Bears signed wide receiver Kendall Wright to a one-year, $4 million contract.

What It Means:

Wright was underused as the Tennessee Titans' slot receiver last year, but he has the talent to make an impact in Chicago. The 20th overall pick in the 2012 draft, 27-year-old Wright offers vertical ability in the slot. He underachieved in Tennessee due to clashes with several different coaching staffs and hard-luck injuries. His signing makes Eddie Royal's $5 million cap hit expendable.

Among the 46 wide receivers who saw between 30 and 75 targets this year, Wright's 0.87 Reception Net Expected Points per target were third-best.
