The New England Patriots are still shopping cornerback Malcolm Butler, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Butler wasn't part of New England's package for wide receiver Brandin Cooks, but the New Orleans Saints "could consider a trade later on." The Patriots can't afford to extend Butler after signing Stephon Gilmore. A restricted free agent, Butler is set to make just $3.91 million in the final year of his contract.
The Patriots ranked 11th last season in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play.
