John Simon agrees on three-year deal with Colts
The Indianapolis Colts signed linebacker John Simon, formerly of the Houston Texans, to a three-year, $13.5 million contract.
This is a solid get for new general manager Chris Ballard, as there's a lot of positive buzz surrounding the 26-year-old Simon. He's a proven commodity against the run and also showed ability as a pass-rusher last season. The question will be whether or not Simon can remain as effective without guys like J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney commanding so much of the attention.
The Colts finished fourth-worst in the NFL last season in schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points allowed per play.
