Titans wrap up deal with Johnathan Cyprien
The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms with safety Johnathan Cyprien, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Cyprien had the best season of his four-year career for the Jaguars in 2016, finishing second on the team with 126 tackles while also excelling as a pass defender. He'll be only 27 by the start of next season.
With Cyprien starting all 16 games for the first time in his career, Jacksonville's defense was much-improved in 2016, ranking 13th in opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play. He should provide a nice upgrade for a Titans' secondary which finished fifth-worst in the same metric last season.
