Pierre Garcon inks three-year contract with 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers agreed to terms with wide receiver Pierre Garcon, formerly of Washington, on a three-year contract.
The deal will pay Garcon "about $23 million over the first two years," reports NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, including a $12 million signing bonus. It's not cheap for a receiver turning 31 in August, but he appeared to have plenty left in the tank last season, and he's familiar with Kyle Shanahan's offense from their time together in Washington.
Among the 41 wideouts to top 100 targets in 2016, Garcon's 0.84 Reception Net Expected Points per target was fifth-best. He caught a career-high 113 passes for a career-best 1,346 receiving yards under Shanahan in 2013
