49ers ink Marquise Goodwin to a contract
The San Francisco 49ers agreed to terms with wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, formerly of the Buffalo Bills.
An actual Olympian, Goodwin has blazing speed, but just 49 career catches in four years. Goodwin has never had an offensive coach like head coach Kyle Shanahan, who could use the speedster in a Taylor Gabriel-type role for a team rebuilding its receiver corps from the ground up.
On 68 targets in 2016, Goodwin had a rate of 0.59 Reception Net Expected Points per target, a rate below-average at the position.
