The Cleveland Browns are a team to "keep an eye on" in trade talks for Los Angeles Rams franchise player defensive back Trumaine Johnson, says NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Similar to the Kirk Cousins situation in Washington, the Rams have tagged Johnson for the second year in a row, but it doesn't sound like there's any sort of long-term future between the two sides. New defensive coordinator Wade Phillips emphasizes man coverage in his schemes, which the Rams apparently don't feel Johnson is a good fit for.
The Rams were 18th in opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play in 2016 with Johnson as the top corner, so he would likely benefit a Browns' secondary that finished very last at 32nd.
