Colts re-sign Jack Doyle to three-year deal

The Indianapolis Colts re-signed tight end Jack Doyle to a three-year, $19 million contract with $9.5 million guaranteed.

What It Means:

Doyle can gain another $2 million through incentives. He emerged as the Colts' number-one tight end last season, out-performing Dwayne Allen as both a pass-catcher and blocker. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Colts part ways with Allen, which would free up almost $3 million in cap space. Doyle will be firmly on the TE1 radar in 2017 if that's how things play out.

Among the 41 tight ends with at least 30 targets this year, Doyle's 0.57 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target was 26th.
