New England unlikely to re-sign LeGarrette Blount
New England Patriots impending free agent running back LeGarrette Blount isn't expected to re-sign with the team, said Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Blount led the NFL with 18 touchdowns last season and ran for a career-high 1,161 yards on the ground, so he's probably looking to get paid. The Patriots, meanwhile, aren't going to shell out top dollar for a running back.
On his 299 carries last season, Blount earned 1.38 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP). His 0.00 Rushing NEP per attempt was 18th among the 42 running backs to top 100 carries this season.
