Dolphins to use Ryan Tannehill as pocket passer more
Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be more of a pocket passer moving forward, the Miami Herald reports.
What It Means:
Tannehill missed the final four games (including playoffs) with a partially torn ACL. He didn’t require surgery, but the Dolphins plan on running him less to stay healthy. Tannehill hasn’t been a huge rushing factor the last two years, averaging just 36 carries. It’s not a major downgrade to his 2017 outlook.
Among the 39 passers to drop back 100 times in 2016, Tannehill ranked 22nd in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back. His 67.1 completion percentage was a career-high.
