Jamison Crowder could lead Washington receiving group
Washington's offense will be fine even if wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon leave in free agency, head coach Jay Gruden thinks.
"I’d love to have both back. I’d love to have one back. If we’re unfortunate to lose them both, I’m not going to blink," Gruden said. "I feel good about Jamison Crowder, Ryan Grant, and Josh Doctson." With 126 catches in two years, Crowder is the only "proven" receiver returning, but 2016 first-rounder Doctson has a ton of upside and seems to be on track for a relatively healthy offseason after missing most of his rookie year with an Achilles' issue. Still, it will not be surprising to see the Redskins add a veteran if they lose both Jackson and Garcon.
Crowder's 0.74 Reception Net Expected Points per target was 22nd among the 68 receivers to top 75 targets last year. Doctson earned 4.51 Reception NEP on six targets in his rookie season.
