Bengals willing to field offers for A.J. McCarron

The Cincinnati Bengals will "listen" to trade offers for backup quarterback A.J. McCarron, according to director of player personnel Duke Tobin.

What It Means:

Beat writer Paul Dehner previously said that trading McCarron is "part of the offseason itinerary" for the Bengals, and if Jimmy Garoppolo really is off the market, Andy Dalton's backup could be seen as the next best option on some team's boards. He's on a cheap deal for another two seasons, making him more attractive than a free agent like Mike Glennon.

On 131 drop backs in 2015, McCarron posted 0.14 Passing Net Expected Points per drop back, the 12th-best mark among the 46 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs that season. He completed 66.4 percent of his 119 pass attempts for 854 yards while throwing 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
