The Houston Texans have an "80 percent chance" to re-sign free agent defensive back A.J. Bouye, believes longtime team beat writer John McClain.
The Texans aren't going to use the franchise tag on Bouye, but it appears they're willing to pay him the top-corner money that he's demanding. Turning just 26 in August, he's expected to see at least $12 million a year on the open market. After opening the year fourth on Houston's depth chart last season, Bouye went on to deflect a career-high 16 passes and emerged as one of the league's best corners.
The Texans came in sixth in opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play in 2016.
