Cowboys will not go after Adrian Peterson
The Dallas Cowboys will not pursue free agent running back Adrian Peterson, reports Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The report comes via a "team source," per Williams, and contradicts what NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said earlier this week. This comes as no surprise with Ezekiel Elliott entrenched as the team's workhorse for years to come.
There were 88 running backs to notch at least 30 rushing attempts last year. Peterson earned -0.39 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt, by far the worst rate among that group.
