The Pittsburgh Steelers assigned the exclusive-rights franchise tag to running back Le'Veon Bell.
The "exclusive" label means Bell will be paid top-five money for his position and it also prevents other teams from negotiating with him. Injuries and suspensions likely made the Steelers apprehensive about committing to Bell for the long-term.
Among the 54 running backs to see at least 100 carries last season, Bell finished ninth in Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt.
