Kansas City Chiefs impending free agent defensive back Eric Berry maintains he'll sit out the 2017 season if forced to play under the franchise tag.
"No I haven't," Berry responded when asked if he's wavered from his stance. "I still stand firm on that." If the Chiefs do tag Berry by Wednesday's deadline as expected, the two sides will have more than four months to work out a long-term deal.
Berry matched his career-high with four interceptions this past season, helping the Chiefs finish fourth in the NFL in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play.
