Lions could look to land Patriots' Alan Branch
The Detroit Lions are a landing spot for New England Patriots defensive tackle Alan Branch.
Branch would be an upgrade next to Haloti Ngata on a defense that struggled to stop the run. Branch shouldn't have a huge market despite anchoring the Patriots’ line the last two seasons. He's 32 years old and made just $2.75M in 2016.
The Patriots were eighth-best in Adjusted Defensive Rushing Net Expected Points per play in 2016 with Branch at the nose. The Lions were 11th-worst in this metric.
