Arizona Cardinals impending free agent inside linebacker Kevin Minter wants to sign with the New York Jets.
Minter has strong ties to Jets head coach Todd Bowles, who coached him the first two years of his career. The Jets don't have a huge need at inside linebacker, but Minter could be an option if Darron Lee moves outside.
The Jets' defense ranked 10th-worst in opponent-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play this year, but Minter wouldn't do much to bump up an already fourth-best ranking in opponent-adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play.
