Washington may deal Kirk Cousins to 49ers at NFL Combine
The Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers agreeing to a trade involving quarterback Kirk Cousins at the NFL Combine "would not be [shocking] at all," said Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network.
Jeremiah believes there's a "better than 50 percent" chance Cousins isn't playing for Washington next season, adding that the front office remains hesitant to commit to the quarterback long-term. Acquiring Cousins would be a massive upgrade for new 49ers' head coach -- and former Washington offensive coordinator -- Kyle Shanahan.
Cousins earned the sixth-most Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back among the 39 quarterbacks to drop back at least 100 times in 2016. The 49ers, meanwhile, finished 28th in Adjusted Passing NEP per play on the year.
