Bills expected to cut Tyrod Taylor, start over with Nick Foles
The Buffalo Bills to cut quarterback Tyrod Taylor, "chug along with a Nick Foles-ish" type player in 2017, "and start over," Bleacher Report's Ty Dunne expects.
Owed $6.4 million, Foles is expected to be released by the Kansas City Chiefs shortly. Dots can connect him to Buffalo, where new quarterbacks coach David Culley was on the Philadelphia Eagles' staff when Foles was drafted and the Chiefs' staff when Kansas City signed Foles last year. Foles turned 28 in January.
Among the 39 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs this past season, Taylor's 0.12 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back ranked 19th. Foles' 0.02 Passing NEP per drop back was significantly below the NFL average for the year (0.10).
