Lawrence Timmons may not be back in Pittsburgh next season
Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert hedged on re-signing linebacker Lawrence Timmons while speaking to the media on Thursday.
"Would you like to have him stay? Absolutely," Colbert said. "(But) does it all fit? We can make it work, but at what cost?" Timmons has been with the Steelers for his entire career, but with his 31st birthday coming in May, he may have to find a new home for his 11th NFL season. Despite starting all 16 games as an every-down player for Pittsburgh in 2016, Timmons was a bit of a liability for the defense. Expect him to accept a reduced role and less pay if he wants to remain with the Steelers.
