Raiders' Derek Carr to have more freedom at line in 2017
Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr will have more freedom at the line of scrimmage in 2017.
Carr had limited pre-snap freedom in prior years, but entering his fourth season, he’s going to have a lot more input on the Raiders' offense. "There’s been a lot made about his command at the line of scrimmage. There’s certainly going to be opportunities for Derek to do that," new offensive coordinator Todd Downing said. "Where I see him needing a little bit more command is just being able to share his thoughts on game plans."
Carr came in ninth in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back among the 39 quarterbacks to drop back at least 100 times in 2016.
