Steelers' Sammie Coates didn't undergo hand surgery
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Sammie Coates is recovering from sports-hernia surgery only, and not a hand operation, reports ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
It was reported last month that Coates underwent hand surgery, but apparently the only procedure that took place was a sports-hernia operation. His groin was never listed as an ailment during the season, but Coates' hand was believed to be a recurring issue.
Among the 95 receivers to see at least 45 targets this season, Coates managed to finish 20th in Reception Net Expected Points per target. His 42.8 percent catch rate (21-of-49 targets) was fourth-worst in that group.
