'75 percent' chance that Jets release Darrelle Revis

NJ Advance Media's Darryl Slater believes there is a "75 percent" chance the New York Jets release defensive back Darrelle Revis.

What It Means:

Slater hedged by acknowledging that Revis could take a paycut or possibly switch to free safety, but ESPN's Rich Cimini has reported that it'll take a steep salary drop for the aging corner to remain with the team. The Jets would save at least $9.3 million against the cap by releasing Revis.

The Jets' secondary ranked fourth-worst this past season in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play.
