NFL scout believes free agent Victor Cruz is 'probably done'
Free agent wide receiver Victor Cruz is "probably done," one NFL scout told ESPN's Paul Kuharsky.
The Giants saved $7.5 million against the cap by releasing Cruz, but his poor play on the field was also a large contributing factor. Towards the end of the season, the 30-year-old receiver was losing snaps to the likes of Tavarres King and Roger Lewis. He simply hasn't been the same since tearing his patellar tendon in 2014.
Among the 56 wide receivers with between 25 and 75 targets this past season, Cruz's Reception Net Expected Points per target ranked 25th.
