Danny Amendola will not return to Patriots without pay cut
The New England Patriots won't bring wide receiver Danny Amendola back at his current $6 million salary, ESPN's Mike Reiss.
Amendola had a quiet year as New England's fourth wideout but came up big with eight catches for 78 yards and a touchdown in Super Bowl LI. Postseason heroics aside, he's taken pay cuts each of the last two seasons and will need to accept another one if he wants to stay in Foxboro.
56 wide receivers saw between 25 and 75 targets this year. Among those players, Amendola's 0.95 Reception Net Expected Points per target was second-best.
