Cardale Jones

Bills intrigued by idea of starting Cardale Jones

Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley views the idea of starting Cardale Jones at quarterback as "appealing", according to the Buffalo News.

What It Means:

The fourth-round pick out of Ohio State attempted just 11 passes as a rookie in 2016. He's a major project but with Buffalo on the fence about keeping Tyrod Taylor, Jones is an alternative the Bills will have to consider. Taking a quarterback 10th overall would probably be a reach for Buffalo while the free agent market figures to be just as sparse. In the end, the Bills may decide that keeping Taylor is their best option.

Among the 39 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs this past season, Taylor's 0.12 Passing Net Expected Points per drop back ranked 19th.
