LeGarrette Blount wants to re-sign with Patriots
New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount said he hopes to re-sign with the team.
"I love being here, and they know I love being here," said Blount. "I feel great. I’m 30 years old, not a lot of wear and tear on my body. I feel like I’ll be able to play for as long as I want." Blount enjoyed a career year in 2016, rushing for 1,161 yards and a team record 18 touchdowns. He still can't catch passes and lost playing time to Dion Lewis down the stretch, but there's a good chance Blount will return to the Patriots on a team-friendly deal.
On his 299 carries this year, Blount earned 1.38 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP). His 0.00 Rushing NEP per attempt was 18th among the 42 running backs to top 100 carries this season.
