Falcons say offense won't change under new coordinator Steve Sarkisian
Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said the offense is not going to change under new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian.
"We love the way that we attack, and it took a lot of work to put that system in place," Quinn said. "We have a real emphasis now on how we can fit guys into that system. It's very important that we stay consistent with that." This should bode well for Matt Ryan, who earned Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2016 while leading a historic Atlanta attack. Barring any Super Bowl hangover, Ryan should return to top-tier QB1 status next season.
Ryan finished this past season with the most Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back among all quarterbacks with 100 or more drop backs. The offense as a whole was exceptional, finishing with the most Adjusted NEP per play by any team since numberFire first started keeping track back in 2000.
