Adrian Peterson says he wants to retire as a Viking
Speaking on NFL Network, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said he would like to retire with the team, while speaking on NFL Network.
"I've been there for 10 years plus. You think about all the relationships you build there, with the organizations with teammates," Peterson said. "That's what you hate to depart from the most." The issue is the money involved, as Peterson will count $18 million against the cap if the Vikings pick up his option. He's going to need to take a steep pay cut if he wants to stay in Minnesota next year.
There were 88 running backs to notch at least 30 rushing attempts this year. Peterson earned -0.39 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt, by far the worst rate among that group.
