New England Patriots wide receiver Michael Floyd will be inactive for Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons "barring an unexpected change," according to ESPN reporter Michael Reiss.
He'll be a healthy scratch for the second game in a row. Floyd has shown very little since joining the Patriots in Week 15 and isn't needed now that Danny Amendola and Malcolm Mitchell are both healthy. The 27-year-old has had a massively disappointing contract year and could be facing jail time following a December DUI arrest. It could be a quiet free agent market for the former first-rounder.
Floyd's Reception Net Expected Points per target ranked 38th among the 68 wide receivers to see 75 or more targets in 2016.
