Cowboys' Jason Garrett wins Coach of the Year
The Associated Press named Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett its 2016 Coach of the Year.
Dallas won an NFC-best 13 games under Garrett. It ties for the most single-season wins in Cowboys history and was a nine-game turnaround from 2015's 4-12 record. Garrett oversaw a top-five offense despite losing quarterback Tony Romo in the preseason. His coaching paved the success of rookies quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott, who were thrust into featured roles.
The Cowboys' 5.80 nERD this year was the third-best mark in this analytic this season.
