The Dallas Cowboys consider re-signing cornerback Brandon Carr and strong safety Barry Church their top offseason priority, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.
Carr started every game the last five years for Dallas and has been a steady presence in the secondary. Despite entering his age-31 season, Carr would have a strong market if he reaches free agency. Church missed most of November with a forearm injury, but had one of his better seasons when healthy. He's been a tackling machine in Dallas's scheme, averaging over 108 tackles the last four years. Church made $4.75 million in 2016 and should push for $5 million or more annually.
Dallas ranked 17th in opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play this year.
