Chiefs high on Tyreek Hill's potential

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid mentioned wide receiver Tyreek Hill in the same breath as DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin, whom Reid previously coached.

What It Means:

Although Hill will never be a traditional wideout or tailback, Reid sounds very open to promoting him into a starting role as a sophomore. He would probably play slot receiver in addition to his gadget-play touches. "We’re asking him to do some running back and we’re asking him to do some wide receiver so you’ve got to know those things and put yourself in a position where you can be a starter as a player," Reid said. "Like I said, he’s innately very intelligent; he’s a smart, smart kid. Picks it up easy."

Hill was the only wide receiver this season to rush at least 20 times and catch at least 60 passes. Among all players to see at least 20 carries on the year, his 0.70 Rushing Net Expected Points per play was first. He also hauled in 61-of-83 targets, finishing with the sixth-best catch rate out of the 60 receivers to see at least 80 targets.
