Cowboys tight end James Hanna sprains MCL
Dallas Cowboys tight end James Hanna sprained his MCL during Thursday night's preseason game against the Chargers.
Hanna is currently slotted as the third tight end on the Cowboys depth chart, and his status is viewed as week-to-week. Hanna largest impact for the Cowboys last came on run blocking. With Jason Witten entering the season at 34 years old and Hanna's injury, backup tight end Gavin Escobar could step into a larger offensive role this season.
Our algorithms project Hanna to finish the year with an unimpressive five receptions and 42 receiving yards. He is currently off the fantasy radar, but he is an important part of a Cowboys running offense that ranked ninth in our schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points metric last season.
