Dallas Cowboys middle linebacker Jaylon Smith (knee) continues to wear a brace to help lift his foot, but is "running and cutting without issues."
ESPN's Todd Archer says Smith can play with the brace, which is designed to help Smith deal with his "drop-foot" condition. Whether it would limit his effectiveness is the next obvious question. The Cowboys have expressed utmost optimism that Smith will be a 2017 contributor, but in what capacity is unknown. We're not betting on Smith emerging as a starter anytime soon.
Dallas ranked 17th in opponent-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play this year.
