Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman downplayed the severity of his MCL injury.
"It wasn't that serious, so there's nothing to address," he said. Sherman also said he'd be surprised if the league punished the Seahawks for not disclosing his injury. "There's been a number of teams that have been warned so we'll see what happens," said Sherman. 2016 was a relatively down year by Sherman's standards, but he still earned Pro Football Focus' 10th-highest grade out of 120 qualifiers at cornerback.
The Seahawks' secondary ranked just 15th this season in opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play, though that mostly nosedived after free safety Earl Thomas' season-ending injury.
