Jets believe Darrelle Revis can play safety
The New York Jets new defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson believes Darrelle Revis can play safety.
"Darrelle is a guy that has a lot of football intelligence," Wilson said. "I wouldn't think it would be a problem for him." Revis is owed $13 million next season and a $2 million roster bonus in March, so he's likely going to need to agree to a pay cut before worrying about changing positions. The Jets may also decide to cut him, as Revis will be 32 in July and is coming off the worst year of his career. To his credit, the veteran corner said he would be open to switching to safety.
The Jets' secondary ranked third-worst this season in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play.
