Packers confirm Ty Montgomery will remain a running back
Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery will remain at the position moving forward, head coach Mike McCarthy stated.
"He's a running back," McCarthy said. "He wants to change his number." The Packers haven't indicated what they plan on doing with impending free agents Eddie Lacy and Christine Michael, but Montgomery should at least remain in some sort of committee role next season after a solid showing in his first year as a running back. It's worth noting that Montgomery will likely lose his receiver eligibility, limiting his upside as a fantasy asset.
Among the 56 running backs to see at least 75 carries this season, Montgomery's 0.08 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt were the ninth-most.
