Eagles expected to release Leodis McKelvin

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to release cornerback Leodis McKelvin, according to Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski.

What It Means:

McKelvin signed a two-year pact last offseason as a familiar face for incoming defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz. He ended up appearing in 13 games, but battled hamstring and concussion issues while grading out as Pro Football Focus' 71st cover corner out of 120 qualifiers. McKelvin's release would save $3.2 million against the cap.

McKelvin didn't do enough to ding the Eagles, however, as they ranked second-best in opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play.
